We are a Reggio Emilia inspired, bilingual and multicultural preschool where children will get a good start in the English language.

We have a maximim of 60 children at Döbelnsgatan 52, four blocks away from ESN. The rooms are newly renovated and adapted to our needs.

To cancel a place you must send us a signed cancellation form. Cancellation happens one month from the cancellation date.

Many families, naturally, ask about waiting time. The reason why you dont get a "number in line", or a specific waiting time is because we have no way of knowing how many families who already have children at the school, might apply for siblings. They have priority number one and go ahead of the waiting list. Priority number two is living close to the school and once again, we can not foresee how many families who live closer than you, might apply, while you are on the waiting list.

When a space becomes available we offer it first to a family who has a sibling that they want a place for. If there are no siblings waiting to get in when then offer the place to the family that lives closest, according to what age group there is a place available in.

We try to offer a place with at least 1 months notice. Of course we give the opportunity to visit the preschool before you accept a place.

Please note that we give priority for visitations to families who are being offered a place.

Our aim is to provide a high quality preschool program that introduces the children to English at a very early age and that follows the goals of the Swedish National Curriculum for Preschools (Lpfö98, revised 2010).

A Schooling-in package is sent to families that have been offered, and have accepted, a place, about one month before the start date.

Child groups: We will recieve up to 60 children in 4 age based departments with 3 staff working in each department. 2 of the staff will be English speaking and one will be Swedish speaking

Staff to child Ratio: There will be 1 staff to 5,5 children on average. 1 to 4 in the younger groups and 1 to 6 in the older groups.

The Library - for songs, rhymes, story-telling, puppet shows, letter sounds and suchlike.

The Big Laboratory - the same, but for the older children, more advanced activities.

The Movement Room - a room for physical movement and gymnastics. This room is also for the youngest when it is nap time.

Queue: the focus is on children from the Stockholm area and the order is based on queue date. In the future priority will be given to those families who already have a child in the school.

A child´s right to time at the preschool in connection with the birth of a younger sibling is:

For the first month after the sibling has been born,
the child has the right to attend the preschool full time. After that the child can attend the preschool between 30 hours per week between 9 am and 3 pm. When the younger sibling turns 1 year old the older child once again, has the right to full time at the preschool, if the parent returns to work, studies, or is actively looking for a job.

If you are on parental leave, your older child has the right to attend preschool a maximum of 6 hours per day, between 9 am and 3pm.

Any permanent changes to the child´s attendance at the preschool (part-time to full-time or the reverse), must be requested one month ahead of the change on a special form.

We are happy to now say that ESN (grades K - 9th)can give preference to children who have gone to Engelska Förskolan , and who want to continue their studies in a bilingual environment at Engelska Skolan Norr, just 5 blocks away from Engelska Förskolan

2) Proximity (living close to preschool or school), based on available places.

Please observe: for the benefit of all children at EF we strive for an even distribution of age and gender.

1) Speak to the Head of the Department in which an incident has occurred. Describe what has happened, or what complaint you have, preferably in writing, if you consider it to be of a more serious nature.

Those familys that have notified us that they absolutely need child care during our closed weeks need to please present to us the reason why, and the exact dates no later than May 11th. Engelska Förskolan
Vi är en Reggio Emilia inspirerad, tvåspråkig och multikulturell förskola som vill ge barnen en god start i engelska språket. Vi har 60 platser på förskolan, på Döbelnsgatan 52, bara cirka fyra kvarter från ESN. Lokalerna är nyrenoverade. Ansökan/Uppsägning Om du/ni är intresserad(e) av att söka plats, vänligen skicka in ett underskrivet ansökningsformulär. Uppsägning sker en månad från uppsägningsdatum. Ni måste skicka in en underskriven uppsägningsblankett. För mer info: vänligen mejla: forskolan@esn.se Hur länge måste man vänta för att bli erbjuden en plats Många familjer vill, såklart, veta hur lång tid man måste stå i kö för att få en plats. Anledningen till att vi inte kan ge ett svar på den frågan, eller ge ett könummer, är att vi inte har möjlighet att veta hur många familjer med barn på förskolan som kommer att söka plats för yngre syskon eller hur många familjer som kommer att söka och som bor närmare förskolan än vad ni kanske gör. Dessa familjer går nämligen före i kön eftersom vi tillämpar Stockholms Stads intagningsregler; syskonförtur och närhetsprincip. När vi erbjuder en plats så kontaktas familjen ifråga ca 1 månad innan och ges självklart möjlighet att besöka förskolan innan man tackar ja. Att besöka förskolan Vänligen observera att vi ger förtur för besök till familjer som erbjuds plats på förskolan. Vårt mål: är att förse barnen med ett förskoleprogram av hög kvalitet som följer målen i den svenska läroplanen för förskolan (Lpfö98, reviderad 2010), samt introducera engelska till barnen. I övrigt följer vi de mål som fastställs i Läroplanen för förskolan, Lpfö 98, reviderad 2010. Ett inskolningspaket skickas till de familjer som fått plats på förskolan, ca. en månad innan start datum. Pedagogik: Vi hämtar inspiration från Reggio Emilia pedagogiken. Barngrupper: Vi kommer att ta in 60 barn fördelade på 4 åldersbaserade avdelningar med 3 personal på varje avdelning. Generellt så kommer 2 av 3 personal vara engelsktalande. Parallellt med de åldersbaserade grupperna kommer många av aktiviteterna vara baserade på mognadsindelade grupper. 12 barn med 3 pedagoger för 1-åringar (Little Stars). 12 barn med 3 pedagoger för 2-åringar (Mars). 2 grupper med 18 barn i varje, bestående av 3, 4 och 5 åringer med 3 pedagoger i vardera grupp (Merury och Saturn). Personaltäthet: I snitt kommer vi att ha 1 personal per 5,5 barn med 1 per 4 barn i de yngre grupperna och 1 per 6 barn i de äldre grupperna. Syskonförtur (om man redan har ett barn på förskolan får man förtur). Närhetsprincipen med fokus på boende i Stockholm, enligt ansökningsdatum. Barnens rätt till närvaro under förälders gravledighet är följande: första hela månaden efter syskonets födelse har barnet rätt till heltid, därefter 30 timmar i veckan mellan kl 9.00 och 15.00. När syskonet fyller ett år gäller återigen rätt till heltid om förälder återgår till arbete, studerar eller är arbetssökande. Om du är föräldraledig får dina äldre barn gå högst sex timmar per dag i förskoleverksamheten, mellan kl 9-15. Bestående förändringar i vistelsetid ska meddelas en kalendermånad i förväg på särskild blankett. Sommarstängt 2012: veckorna 28,29,30 har vi stängt. Olycksfallsförsäkring från Stockholms Stad för skolbarn finns att ladda ner här. OBS! Förskolan har en egen väntelista som man måste söka till separat från Engelska Skolan. Intagningsprinciperna till Engelska Förskolan är: 1) Syskon till barn på EF 2) Närhetsprincipen (att man bor nära skolan) i mån av plats Vänligen notera att vårt intag är fokuserat på Stockholms Stad. Observera att vi, för alla barns bästa, söker en jämn fördelning mellan åldersgrupper och kön.
